Women's Consignment Clothing

Designer Consigner co-owners Brenda Alessandria and Cheryl Lund have been bringing the best-dressed women in San Francisco a place to sell their designer labels. And for the past eight years they have been offering the rest of the world of women with haute couture taste a place to buy these fabulous fashions for $15 - $400.

In the Spring of 2005, Alessandria and Lund opened their second boutique. Their flagship shop is in Presidio Heights. Their new second-hand store - which often attracts higher-end designer labels - is located on Sutter Street -- one block from Union Square.

Brenda and Cheryl's two consignment boutiques offer both new and nearly new women's clothing at a fraction-of-the-cost you would pay at the designers' boutiques or department stores.

The owners prefer to take on designer labels that were originally purchased no more than three years ago.

They have over 4,000 consigners who bring in their "hand me downs" and hope that within sixty days their merchandise will be sold. If it is not, the consigner is given the opportunity to try their hand at another consigner shop in town, or put the garment or accessory on EBay, or offer it to charity.

Designer Consigner's designer labels include: Alberta Ferretti, Ann Taylor, BCBG Max Azria, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Ellen Tracy, Escada, Evan Picone, Gucci, Hermes, Jones of New York, Liz Clairborne, Loro Piana, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Valentino and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Shoes made by Bruno Magli, Charles David, Ferragamo, Gucci, Kookai, Miu Miu (sisters of Prada), Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Richard Tyler, TSE, Valentino and Stuart Weitzman were available at the time this profile was published.

Handbags in the store at the time: Fendi, Hermes and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Costume jewelry included jade, 14 carat gold and sterling silver.
